Announcements
1) During the December holiday trainings, there were 2 uniform inspections conducted. Some of you have yet to receive any of the badges. I will call for these people and distribute your badges. These people will have a quick uniform check during this Friday's roll call. ONLY BRING your blouse (ironed and starched). If you are still unsure on how to sew your badges (which you must not be), please check with your Sec3 patrol members.
2) To ALL, please bring $2. We have ordered something compulsory in Guides. So please bring this money. PLs, please check that everyone has paid and the amount tallies accordingly BEFORE ROLL CALL. Money will then be passed to Cindy.
3) To Sec1s. Please bring the following for Roll Call.
-notebook (can be your school notebook)
-writing materials
-water bottle
-brain ( to have common sense and a mind to learn) :P

thinking day
last tuesday was the first session the sec 1s attended.
i've asked for their feedback and they say it was...kinda boring -.-
okay fine, let's come up ways to make it better!
and sec 1s, don't lose hope.
the coming cca sessions will definitely be more interesting!
sec 2s and above:
the next few meetings will focus mainly on thinking day practices.
as you know, thinking day celebration is on 20 Feb at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
west division is putting up a performance tgt.
we are doing smth on guides history, talking abt how Lord and Lady Baden Powell founded Guiding.
this year, CSS (together with RV) are in charge of making a banner/cloth (black) with a globe painted on it.
SO, what's the dimension?

it's HALF THE SCHOOL HALL!
purpose of the globe is to illustrate that the worldwide guiding movement.

FALL IN BY 2.45pm at the basketball court BEFORE EXCOs reach there. Do not wait and linger outside Guides Room for EXCOs to move then you start to fall in.
REPORT in Guides Polo and PE shorts. Carry a REFILLED WATER BOTTLE with you.
Look clean and smart.
To Mynah patrol,
you can fall in with your PE attire worn. You'll be doing banner painting touch-ups and I hope that you've got all your paints ready by now.

1) Famous person (not infamous) eg. oprah winfrey
2) Significant event (NO H1N1)
3) Political leader eg. barack obama, hitler, MM lee
4) Entertainment eg. movie, music, actress (you can show the mv eg. carrie underwood i'll stand by you or trailer)
5) One general knowledge or skill you wish the guides to acquire
Presentation duration is 15-20 minutes.
Not only i want the presentation to be entertaining,
I hope they can learn some meaningful or important lessons.
This is the 1st cca session that sec 1s joined us.
Please give them a good impression.
If possible, make it engaging and interactive.
It's not desirable for the sec 1s to just sit there and listen for 2 hours.
presentation not necessary have to be powerpoint.
be creative and original.

Each patrol must come up with at least 1 banner design and hand in to Cindy before Friday 11.00am Upper Sec recess.
DETAILS & RULES:
1. The name of the COY and School must be clearly indicated on the banner itself as well as on the top left hand corner of the back of the banner.
2. Banners should include the images of 5 Girl Guide/Girl Scout members (including Brownies) in uniform, from the 5 Regions of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (Africa, Arab, Asia Pacific, Europe and Western Hemisphere).
(you might need to do some research)
3. Each banner should come only in one standard size of 4m x 1.5m (horizontal display).
4. All banners must have a margin of 10cm from the edges.
Please follow stricitly to the rules.
Take this seriously and do CSSGG proud.

Report at usual fall-in area according to patrols by 2.50pm
Be in school's PE attire. Shirt must be tucked in.
Fall in with your school bags.
Bring along AT LEAST 5 rags and 10 plastic bags (5 big ones & 5 medium-sized/similar to that of an NTUC bag)
Bring a spare T-shirt and an extra pair of socks
Full attendance is expected.

collecting MCs and parent letters,

Amirtha is in charge of coming up with agendas for every cca meetings,
writing proposals and settle all admin stuffs.
Cindy will be in charge of collecting money for guides fund and
returning of guides room key after each meeting.
Azalea and Chunni are overseeing the activities taking place,
coming up with new initiatives and ideas and
the coordinator between the teachers and company.
So approach only the respective EXCO or your PL regarding your matters.

NO CCA TOMORROW

To Sec3s
Chunni has sent you an email to your Google Apps Account regarding your 30 week plan.
This 30 week plan is not entirely a matter of you becoming the next EXCO.
Rather this is what teachers want to see from all of you, the entire batch to be exact, as to how your planning style is. This is crucial because ALL of you will take over the running of this CCA. How you make this CCA fun is entirely up to ALL of you. I am sure right now when you are juniors to the Sec4s, you would not want Sec4s to plan something that is boring, unproductive and not engaging everyone.
So please take pride in the responsibility entitled to you.
Should you need any extra materials (eg list proficiency badges) or if you have any doubts to raise, do approach any of the EXCO. Text us okay. Lastly, your Guides Handbook would be a useful resource.
Approach any of us, we would be most welcome to assist you wherever possible(:

To all GIRLS
1) Remember the 2 postcards that I gave to everyone? You are supposed to safe keep them. DO NOT LOSE IT. I will keep you all posted on what is to be done with the 2 postcards. Also, I am very positive that one of you have lost it already because I found one blue coloured postcard lying on the school ground. The postcard is in my hands now.
2) A GENTLE reminder: Please do check out this blog REGULARLY for updates on meetings and announcements.
3) To the absentees of 30th Dec' meeting, please submit an MC or a parents' letter to declare ONLY IF you are away on a holiday.
4) There will be a meeting on this Friday. This Friday's meeting is IMPORTANT. EXCOs will be deploying girls to the various activities that we will be doing for the next day's Open House. Like any other CCA trainings, we do expect full attendance. Namelists of girls who will be involved will be up on this blog latest by Thursday. Fret not, we would want to involve EVERYONE.
Do await further details for Friday's training AND for Saturday's Open House.
