CCA meetings!

Hiii guides! :D These are the details for the meetups/events during june hols.

-1 June 2011 (wednesday)
ALL of you have to come back on this day, it is initially planned to be on 8th june but it has been changed to this date.
Time: 9am - 4.30pm
Venue: Foyer
Attire: Polo tee with sch skirt
(sec 2s that have NYGH training the day before, please try to wash it and wear it on this day as well)
Things to bring: Water bottle, writing materials, 3 stacks of newspaper & 3 magazines, scissors, glue, enough money for lunch (lunch is NOT provided)

The agenda for this day has changed, and we will not be clearing the guides room anymore so there is no need to bring any rags or cloths. (: We will be doing POP discussion and craft badge!

That is why each of you guys have to bring 3 stacks of newspaper and 3 magazines, as well as other craft stationeries. Please bring all the required things and fall in punctually.

In case you guys are curious, we were actually asked to move guides room, from our current one to the PE Equipment room (beside red cross room; which is not the PE Office with aircon, its the one with no windows and is very dusty). So some of the sec 3s wrote a "letter" on the whiteboard to Mrs Cheah and others, as we know they will be going in on sat (28th may). Turns out that they've read it and smsed Mrs Loh stating that we need not move guides room anymore ^^ So please cherish and keep the guides room neat always! :)

Camp Challenge People: We will be away from the rest and will focus on gadgets on that day, so ALSO bring:
- Overdue consent form (the one for going to NYGH on 28th)
- Guides Handbook
- Stuffs we brought to NYGH that day (twine, milo/biscuit tin; thks for bring it here and there so many times!) No need to bring utencils! :P
Do not lose the patrol identity too! (the red band we put on our wrists) And the pictures of the knots are below this post, please still rmb how to tie certain knots in case we need it on ANY of the camp challenge training meetups. (:

We will have to meet up for one day, most probably 20th june, to prepare and practice some stuffs for west division day. More info will be up soon.

-25June 2011: "Be a smarter cookie" workshop(For Carmen & Ziling)

Meeting Time: 12.30pm (event is from 1- 3pm)

Attire: Orange tee with PE Shorts
What to bring: Water Bottle & patrol identity

We will be pitching tents with the guides from CTSS, as well as guides from NewtownSS and ZhengHuaSS. There will not be any consent forms, so if you need a teacher to inform your parents, please tell us asap.
Also, please have your lunch beforehand! :)

The excos had changed mostly the sec 2s and some of the sec 1s, this is going to be the final patrols as we've decided that drawing lots or other ways are not as easy as you guys think, cos there are some citerias we have to meet. And we know its difficult and awkward, but we are all guides and your friends are not going to disappear, therefore be more open and take this chance to make new friends! This is for ALL sec 2s & sec 1s, there will be the Green Wave event coming up this friday, 20th may, and all of you are supposed to join forces with NPCC and Green Club to plant a tree during your recess time. Pictures will be taken, so we will know who did not turn up by then!

There are still some classes that have not gotten their ice cream sticks, we know this has dragged for a long time but because that time Mrs Loh had made an announcement to see the chairperson of each class, there were only a few that came up, yet we are still hearing from some of you guys that your class didnt receive your orders.
Therefore, this is the LAST CHANCE already, if you know your class haven't gotten your ice cream sticks orders and had already paid for it, please write down all the orders (with the names & class) and pass it to the excos on friday CCA. Please do your part so that we don't have to do this again. Tyvm! (:

Reshuffling of Patrols

Hi! Heard that there are some rumblings about the reshuffling of the patrols. Just want to share that this is something we really need to do cos we have our 6th patrol...We hope u girls can understand the need to reshuffle the patrols, and try to get along better with each other okay? :) Use this opportunity to make new friends and let CSSGG become more bonded kaykay?

We noe dat some of u dont like some members in your partol, so we hope that u all can try to accept ur differences, be more open! After all, we are still one big family, and all ur friends are still in the same CCA still..So lets not be unhappy about it-- u all sad, exco also sad! We r trying very hard to re-reshuffle it again, the new patrols will be posted soon, do check the blog often for updates yeah! We really do hope there will be less unhappiness and stuffs after the new patrols are posted, hope u can understand okay? No worries, we will have level activities for u to bond with ur frens too.. :D

This event only requires 3 bowlers and 1 reserve, so please decide among yourselves on that day. No transport is provided and none of the excos are going with you, so you'll have to clear your doubts, if you have any, before then. Also take note that it is an inter-unit event, hence not only girl guides will be there, but other uniformed groups as well.
(!) Be punctual and all rules still apply, such as pinning up of fringe and tucking in of shirt! Have fun too, there is no need to win or get any prizes ^^

West Division day is a day where all the schools in the west area will come together for some games, competitions and showcases. Hence, many of you will be required to take part in the different competitions, such as the Art Event. There are many fun games and attractive prizes.
Sec 1s and others that have never went for West Division Day previously, you guys can ask the seniors for more information about it (:

Among the 21 of you, 4 will be choosen / needed to help Mrs Loh in the setting up of stalls and other stuffs. You guys will still be able to play and take part in competitions. (:

More details will be out as you guys may only be required to go for 1 or 2 of the days, not all. This training includes tent pitching, gadget making, outdoor cooking, initiative games and crafting. The camp will be run by NYGH sec 3 & sec 4 guides, some of whom are running for the President Guide Award. Standards will be higher, but do not worry! Just have fun and learn all the skills properly(:

- CSS Annual Games Day (giving out awards): 16May 2011
Attire: whatever you are wearing on that day, which should be level tee & PE shorts

Okays, basically, full details are not out for most of the events but just take note of those that are posted.
Announcements:
-New Patrols

The excos are trying their best to change it but it is impossible for us to please everyone. So please try to accept your new patrol members, make friends, solve any conflicts if there are any and just adjust to the new patrol. We did not do this on purpose, to seperate you guys or anything, we reshuffled it randomly as it is more fair this way, rather than choosing some to go to the new patrol.
We did make some changes, but those are small changes that we felt are neccessary. Hence do not tell us that you want to change patrol because your friends are not there, or you dislike someone in the patrol.

We will give your more details about the patrol emblem asap too.

- Passing Out Parade (POP): 1July 2011
Please get ready all your materials for it as we will be discussing it soon. Performances are to be discussed and done in levels. Sec 1s, if you guys are clueless, we will explain more during cca and the excos will help your too.
Also, we are not confirmed whether handphones and other devices may be used yet, but do get ready any songs or videos if you think you need it. (:

1) Uniformed Group Bowling Championship at Westwood Bowl

- due to certain circumstance, the activity has not been confirmed yet therefore those who had give us your names, don't worry, we will update you once its confirmed. (:

2) NYGH Training

- those of you whose name had been stated on the previous post, please do ignore it as it has been changed to 8 Sec 2 guides. So, sec 2s, if any of you guys are interested, please do tell us. If not, we will randomly pick any 8 of you on friday.

That's all guides, sorry for any confusion that has occured. Do also approach any of the excos if you are feeling unsure about anything. :)

How to sew your ranks ^^

Heeeeey Guides! :D Long time no see, hope ya'll have been working hard for MYE. Just a reminder, do check the guides blog often as there will be important posts that you will need to note. Okays, anyways, here's for the sec 3s. Hope everyone has received their ranks, if not please inform the excos! And we heard some of ya'll are not sure how to sew your ranks so here are a few examples, please try to follow, it doesn't have to be perfect, just make sure it is neat. Mine is not very straight also but its alright :D Remember to sew it down!

Some of their guides are running for the President Guide Award, therefore the standard will be quite high but do not worry as it is a good experience ^^

Bowling championships

Hey guides (: There's this event coming up and its called the
"Uniformed Groups Bowling Championships"
We need your participation and the dateline is 13th may.

Details:
Date: 3 June, Friday (Preliminary Round)
Time: 1000h to 1300h
Venue: Westwood Bowl @ Bukit Batok CSC
Attire: Polo tee / PE attire (to be confirmed again)

We need 1 team of 3 bowlers and 1 reserve, this event is totally free as Mrs Loh will be covering it for us. (: If you guys are interested, please form your own teams and send your names and classes to any of the excos. (via google apps or text message)
We need it by FRIDAY 13 MAY so if we don't get any response, we will choose 4 guides to go. (randomly from any level)

Take note that 3rd june is also the date for Eclat (the event where our school SYF groups are performing at Spore Poly) but Eclat is happening at night, 7.30pm, so this will not clash with it.
