(4) Marching commands
This is mainly for the sec 1s, but also for those that dont know how to pronounce or say some marching commands. Your shld know what each command mean, so learn it properly as we will randomly call anyone to command at any time

1. Update of particulars



All Guides, please send a text message/google apps mail to your respective Patrol Leaders / Patrol Seconds your



(a) Full name



(b) Class



(c) Date Of Birth



(d) Handphone number

(g) Home address



(h) One parent's name (For emergency purposes)



(i) The parent's number (For emergency purposes)



(j) Meal preferences (e.g. No seafood, no cheese etc.)




PL/PS, please take initiative to remind them, thanks (:



Patrol Leaders / Patrol Seconds can then collate all the particulars of your patrol members including yourselves and send them to all the EXCOs via google apps.







2. 'Cleaninless Check' - Unit Initiative pictures to be sent


Patrol Leaders and Patrol Seconds are also reminded to send the photos to all the EXCOs you have taken for the initiative done recently.





3. Total defence badge Tests


There will be TD Bronze and Silver Badge Tests held on Tuesday, 25th October.


Sec 1 Guides will be taking the Bronze badge while Sec 2 Guides will be taking the Silver badge.


What to prepare for:



-Bronze Badge (Sec 1s): You need to know how to explain what Total Defence and its necessity. Know the different aspects of Total Defence.


-Silver Badge (Sec 2s): Read your Sec 2 History textbook. The test should be smth about Singapore's history.




Details of the test:
It should be an MCQ test, but prepare well for it. BE PREPARED (:


Attainment of Badge:
Of course, you are all expected to pass the test. Really, do put in effort preparing for this!



In attainment of the badge, you can pin it @ the left sleeve of your Guides Uniform blouse. Its shiny (:(: For the Sec 2s, you can then change your Bronze badge to your Silver badge!





4. Handing up Proficiency Badges (Collector, Reader, Writer, Accident Prevention, Artist)


A call to the Sec 1 Guides. If you have any overdue badges,


Mrs Liew would like you to hand them up by 25th October 2011.


For collectors badge, ensure ALL OF YOU have re-done it.


We have already given you ample time, do a good final touch up.


Please take pride in anything you have handed in and see this as a learning opportunity!



In attainment of these badges, you can sew all 5 of them on your right sleeve of your Guides uniform blouse. They're circle in shape (:(:



GUIDES, HAVE THE DESIRE TO ACHEIVE THINGS IN GUIDES, in one aspect, its the attainment of Proficiency badges!






5. 25th October Guides meeting



Day/Date: Tuesday, 25 October 2011


Time: 250pm sharp at Foyer


Attire: Guides Polo Tee + School Shorts


Bring: Water bottle, Stationery (Full Scap paper & pens)

6. Thinking Day & Total Defence Day
Also, the reason why we've already continued training you girls is to prepare for the following events which are significant in Guiding. Know that your discipline is a view of your character, you must be able to react from all the commands. Do not be disheartened with the meantion of these marching trainings, for we can have fun as long as you are able to do it. (: Meet your own expectations, meet the EXCOs' expectations of yours as well. Remember these words (:

Hey guides, this will just be a brief overview of all the various events / cca meetings from now on. Details of each activity are either below, in previous posts, or is yet to be updated. So please check back before the actual event.

Please bring everything required, like your arts & writing materials, and not just a few markers or some colour papers. We really mean decorative stuffs like ribbon / stickers / colour pencils, not forgetting glue / scissors / tape etc. And remember to have a heavy breakfast.

Please try to change any of your plans during that period. But if you have already confirmed your vacation trip and it clashes, you will have to provide a passport scan (DO NOT NEED the page with your pic and info).

Take note: It is NOT a camp, it is three full days course that is organised by Singapore Red Cross. The registration fee for each person is $107 but it is fully subsidised, hence please try your best to make it, including the reserves in case you will be required to take anyone's place.

14 OCT 2011: CCA RESUMES! (we know its a marking day ~)
Time: 8.45am (pls have a heavy brkfast as we might end arnd late lunch time)
Venue: Sch Foyer
Attire: Polo tee with shorts
What to bring: Water Bottle, colour pencils / markers, scissors, glue, staples, ribbons, stickers (basically art materials, just bring whatever decorative stationeries or paper you have as we will be designing some stuffs :))


*PEOPLE TAKING FOOTDRILL BADGE: Please go and familiarise with the english, as well as the malay, commands (given to your during previous cca). Do not have to remember everything but at least learn most of it, esp the basics. Test will be around november, will update your again.

Sec 1s: Collectors, Readers, Writer's badge (refer to 25july & 27aug posts if you forgotten)
Dateline : 28 OCT cca

Staple them your works together in the above order and indicate your names & patrol on all of the sheets. Please put your best into it, we have given your enough time, and even extended the dateline from 14 oct to 21 oct and to ultimately, 28 oct, so we hope your can do your part too :)
