1. Complete the Local History badge, do all the clauses. This is due on 2 September 2014, Tuesday.
LOCAL HISTORY BADGE
Clause 1. Visit a building or area of interest and give an account of her discoveries.
Clause 2. Know a story of the vicinity in the past, or describe the area at one period in the past.
Know something of the lives of three people who have played an interesting role in the history of Singapore.
Record all 4 of these points on a scrapbook.

2. Sec 1s, do the Thrift Badge. This is due 3 months from when we first asked you guys to do this badge. Make sure all is done, NO EXTENSION will be given.
THRIFT BADGE
Clause 1. Having a savings account of at least 3 months’ standing and show that she has added to it regularly from her savings or pocket money. Type on Microsoft Excel and print it out.
Clause 2. Bring a certificate from her parents stating that she is not wasteful in the home and is keeping her belongings in good condition. Type it on Microsoft Word and print it out.
Clause 3. Bring to the test an article that proves that she is thrifty. E.g. repairing toys or equivalent. Repair something, take a picture of it, paste the picture and type on Microsoft Word - describing how & why you repaired it. Print it out.
Answer questions on the real meaning of thrift and keep a notebook over a period of at least a month of ways in which she is able to put thrift into practice.

3. Do Clauses 1.3, 1.5, & 1.12 of Craft Badge. We did 1.3 on Friday's CCA Session so do continue with the other two clauses on your own :)
For clause 1.12, the mosaic, use the magazines and paste it on paper on the design that you have drawn. The design should be related about Girl Guides.
CRAFT BADGE
1. Do three of the following clauses:
1.1 Embroider an original design;
1.2 Print a piece of material using lino-block, potato-cut, or screen or by tie-dying;
1.3 Make a puppet;
1.4 Whittle an object from natural food;
1.5 Model a figure, or an animal or bird, in lay, plasticine or wax;
1.6 Make a carving in a medium, soft enough to cut easily e.g. remnant cloth, twine;
1.7 Make a pot;
1.8 Make a basket;
1.9 Make a picture using metal relief e.g. copper, aluminium;
1.10 Weave a rug or piece of material of a suitable size for some other article;
1.11 Make a decorative floor covering in a suitable material e.g. remnant cloth, twine;
1.12 Make a mosaic;
1.13 Make an article using macramé;
1.14 Make an article using a craft other than one of those listed above.

4. For those that have not done this few things on the Guides Handbook, do complete this by 26 August 2014, this Tuesday's CCA Session.
-Read and do page 73-75 of the Guides Handbook
-Read page 117-119 of the Guides Handbook and draw your own bedroom OR your ideal bedroom, draw it on half of an A4 paper, it should be quite detailed and decorated and coloured
-Read and do page 94-96 of the Guides Handbook

Do complete the homework by the stated dateline :) ***UPDATE: NO EXTENTION FOR ALL, I don't think we're very unreasonable?? There's no cca on this coming friday so you can probably take this chance to go and visit the historical places*** Or if any of you are unsure, do ask your PLs, or Lee Jia, or Syakirah to clarify your doubts :) We are giving you the week and weekend to do the local history and badge, so do manage your time wisely.
