Ayer Rajar Parade

9th August 2011 Tuesday
All of you guys are supposed to report to Ayer Rajar CC at 6.45am. The CC is just right behind our school, within walking distance.

TIME: 6.45am sharp
WHAT TO BRING:
1. Consent forms
2. Coupons
3. Small plastic bag for flowermaking booth
4. Water Bottles
5. Sec 1s: the alphabets you guys are supposed to make
ATTIRE: Full guides uniform
(Parade ppl: Boots. The rest: White CANVAS shoes)

#1 From now onwards, we are not going to spoonfeed any one of your, we are not going to keep posting small details that you guys are supposed to know or check yourselves, such as "Full guides uniform: hat, belt, badges, boots" or "Plaits to be plaited all the way down, short hair to be tucked neatly into a hairnet". All these info had been repeated umpteen times and we are going to stop doing that, so as to not allow your rely too much on others.

#2 If you reach early tomorrow, and needs to change boots or tie hair, do it all at one corner. Dont sit in groups far apart and occupy the whole corridor / hall.

#3 Dont forget to bring anything or be late. We are going to FALL IN at 6.45am, so if you need to adjust any part of your guides uniform, reach early. This is your responsibility.

#4 Make sure your uniform is up to standard, not any part of your uniform should be missing or wrong. All the info you need will be in either the guides handbook, guides website or in our own guides blog.

#5 Never ever take out your hat without permission. If we say take out your hat, EVERYONE is supposed to take out, fold it nicely and place it on your shoulder. No one is allowed to wear back, hold your hat, or place it anywhere. If we did not give permission to take it out, you are supposed to wear it all the wear till permission granted or till you change out of guides uniform.

#6 For the parade people, please drink loads of water and have filling meals. Hopefully no one falls out tmr, but if you are really not feeling well, FALL OUT PROPERLY, dont just walk out. Be strong and persevere till the end!

#7 HEART TO HEART.
Fall in means fall in, STOP whatever you are doing and quickly fall in. You guys are really really really slow when we ask your to do things, maybe that is because your dont treat our words seriously, we are being too nice to your and your think punishments are lame. So if that is the msg you want to convey to us, continue strolling from places to places and continue to KEEP MOVING when ur are already falled in.

We thought it would be much better to talk and to instruct your nicely, not to keep screaming or scolding your, but it seems like everyone takes advantage of it. We always have to repeat our instructions more than 3 times. Yes, we are smiling and laughing, but that doesnt mean that what we are saying or doing at that moment is to be treated lightly, everything done during cca is to be treated seriously and not as a laughing matter. Why? Because we have a standard to keep up to and we are holding the name of Girl Guides UNIFORM GROUP.

Some of you guys might think that we are still smiling so we are not angry, or we can joke with your so your can take your own sweet time to do things, but the reason we do that is cos we thought that we can use a nicer and more reasonable tone to instruct your which your will listen to, we thought that your will be more willing to listen to instructions from a friendlier, happier person that speaks with a nice tone rather than an angry, screaming, black-faced person.

But it seems like, when we do that, the standard of guides will drop, and keep on dropping. Have you ever seen those uniform group people on tv during NDP adjusting or talking when they are falled in, or have you ever seen other uniform grps having to take more than an hour to adjust and wear the PROPER attire?
Before you complain about ANYTHING or ask ANYTHING, always ask yourself first, is there anything YOU CAN DO. Example, dont know how to tie plaits. Yah, many many of us don't know how to tie, even the excos, but before coming to those with leadership positions and complaining about how troublesome it is, or begging us to allow you to bun your hair, ask yourself, is there ANYthing you can do. Yes, you can always report earlier, find a senior or friend that knows how to tie to help you, ask a family member or go online and learn.
Put yourselves in our shoes, not every rule or activity is something we can change or decide easily, so stop coming to us and asking us if you can not do this or that, wear this or that, change this or that.

Of course, if you still have any other questions or things that you are unsure of, after trying to clear your doubts by yourself, ask us asap. We hope you guys understand how we feel and how hard it is for us sometimes, esp with our standards dropping currently.

On the happy note, many people praised the guides contingent today for our excellent discipline and perseverance. Keep up the good work! Proud of you guys for enduring the long standing period!:)

See your all tmr!
