[EDITED]
Hi guides, our delicious guides cookies are here already. :) So we need all of you to collect it on friday. There are some instructions to follow so please read properly.
Date: Friday 16 Sept
Time: 1.55pm SHARP
Venue: Guides Room
Attire: whatever you are wearing that day
What to bring: your cookie order list , pen, big plastic bag/ recycle bag (to contain your cookies)
The other time the following people told us your wanted to buy some extra cookies, so tmr pls bring the money as we have extras. :)
- Wen Yi ($24)
- Khalishah ($24)
- Xin Yi ($12)
- Christine ($12)
- Hui Qi ($12)
To others that want to buy somemore cookies, but names are not listed, please stay back awhile tmr after we give out finish, to see if there are extras (oats & raisins + choco mint SHOULD not have any extras).
*& We are still short of payment for TWO tins ($24), those that haven't pay, please pay up tomorrow!
First, good job to everyone that sold more than 8 tins of cookies, please thank your "customers" as well for supporting guides and for patiently waiting for the cookies to arrive.
Second, there might be some stock mistakes as there are many last minute orders and some money issues. So first come first serve, we will give out the cookies as stated in your order list, but if there are lack of stocks, we will replace certain tins with a different flavour. But don't worry, it is just a 'MIGHT'.
Third, THOSE THAT HAVEN'T PAY THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE COOKIES, be it you that havent submitted your money, or your "customers", you are responsible for it and must pay all the missing amount to Grace (class 3C) BEFORE friday.
Fourth, no full amount paid = no cookies. & No order list = no cookies. Also, no one is to leave or "store" their cookies in the guides room, for whatever reason, whether your friends went home already or you dont have a plastic bag or anything. What you can do is to ask them to stay back a little while on friday after school.
Kays, so to avoid confusion and chaos in guides room on friday, you guys need to follow some instructions. Read carefully:
1) DO NOT bring your bags in the guides room, nor leave it outside the room, as it might block people's path. Don't even carry it into the room. Instead just bring the needed items as stated above.
2) When your come in, line up OUTSIDE the guides room in your LEVELS first. Sec 1s nearest to the windows, then sec 2s, then sec 3s (nearest to the notice board). DO NOT ask your "customers" to come.
3) If you have something on that day, pls tell us earlier if you cannot come, then arrange a date to collect it. If you need to leave quickly after taking the cookies, make sure to line up in front so that you can take first or ask for permission.
4) The excos will then ask a few of each level to go in at a time. Go in the same way as u lined up, means sec 1s stay on the left (near the sofa in guides room) and so forth. It will be easier to give out this way.
5) When waiting, please talk softly if needed, and do not take up the whole walkway outside guides room.

Another thing, many of you guys should know what is Camp Challenge. If you do not know, it is basically a guides camp where many guides from all over singapore come to participate and learn together. It is a camp where they will test all your outdoor activity and guides skills, such as Canvas tent pitching, gadgets and even quizzes on Guiding. The format they follow is somewhat like a competition where they will grade the different categories (such as pioneering, patrol design etc) and their criteria and standards are very high.
8 of our sec 3 guides have participated in the camp last June and am happy to say that we won a total of 3 prizes :D!
1st for Gadget making & 3rd for both Patrol Flag Design and Outdoor Cooking.
Overall, we rank 2nd in the whole of West Division, which include other schools like Clementi Town SS, Nanyang Girls, Zhenghua SS etc.
All schools did very well, and we have met many many helpful and loving guides. It was super memorable and beneficial, and it is not easy to attain such standards. For example, the outdoor cooking, they asked us to make our own OVEN out of card box and aluminium foil. They also asked us to cook dishes like Banana Pie/Muffin, Steamed Fish, Rice etc.
Which is also why it is called Camp CHALLENGE.
So anyways, we hope all of you can continue such good work. See you all on friday :)
